Older 15mm gas runs were sized for 60–80kBtu back boilers, not modern 30kW combis. We regularly find pressure drops under load that make boilers lock out intermittently. We pressure-test the supply on every quote and upgrade to 22mm where the calculation demands it.
We see strong heat pump results in Nunthorpe, Coulby Newham and Marton — most of that stock was built to reasonable insulation standards and has the garden depth for an outdoor unit with proper clearances. Older Linthorpe and central TS1 properties can absolutely run heat pumps, but usually need fabric improvements and larger emitters first; we'll do the heat-loss calc and tell you honestly whether the numbers stack up before we quote.
