Air source heat pumps (ASHP)
Monobloc R32 / R290 units, sized to MCS heat-loss surveys, with weather-compensated controls and matched indirect unvented cylinders. We install Mitsubishi Ecodan, Vaillant aroTHERM plus, Daikin Altherma and Samsung EHS.

MCS-grade design and installation of air source heat pumps, solar thermal, hybrid systems and high-efficiency hot water cylinders — engineered to cut your bills, qualify for grants, and meet the UK's net-zero pathway without compromising comfort.

Renewables installation covers the design, supply and commissioning of low-carbon heating: air source and ground source heat pumps, solar thermal (hot water), hybrid heat pump + boiler systems, and the unvented cylinders and smart controls that tie them together.
Homeowners replacing oil, LPG or older gas heating; homeowners with south- or west-facing roofs adding solar thermal to cut hot-water bills; self-builders specifying low-carbon from the outset; and landlords future-proofing rental yield against tightening MEES rules.
At end of life of an existing system, during a major refurbishment, at new build first-fix, or whenever the next round of energy price changes makes the maths obvious.
Renewables aren't a single product — they're a system. Specifying the wrong cylinder, undersizing emitters, missing grant deadlines or installing without MCS all kill performance and payback. Greencore's 30-year heating background makes the difference between a renewables system that works on paper and one that works in your home, in February, at 2 am.
Renewables done badly are worse than no renewables. Here's what we routinely come in and fix:
Oversized units short-cycle; undersized units never reach setpoint. Either way, the bill is 30–50% higher than the homeowner was promised.
The Boiler Upgrade Scheme has strict eligibility and submission rules. A missed step costs you £7,500.
Panels too big, cylinder too small, no overheat protection — leads to stagnation, glycol degradation and panel failure.
Renewables on a draughty house are throwing money out of windows. We always assess fabric first and tell the truth.
Non-MCS installs can't access most manufacturer warranty extensions and can't claim BUS funds.
The system should be designed before the kit is bought. We see homeowners with garages full of orphaned panels they bought 'on offer'.
They're complementary. Solar thermal cuts the hot-water demand a heat pump has to satisfy — saving 30%+ in summer running costs.
A modern ASHP or solar thermal demands a properly specified unvented cylinder with a high-performance coil. Reusing the old one is the #1 cause of poor performance.
We look at your home, your bills, your EPC and your goals. No commitment, no commission-driven sales — just a clear view of what's possible.
Insulation, glazing, air-tightness, room-by-room heat loss. We won't install a system you don't have the fabric to support.
Full MCS-compliant design pack: ASHP/solar/hybrid spec, emitter schedule, cylinder, controls, SCOP/SAP modelling,
Greencore engineers do the install — outdoor unit, cylinder, pipework, emitter upgrades, controls — typically 3–7 days depending on scope.
MCS commissioning certificate, smart-control handover, 12-month performance review and ongoing remote monitoring.
BUS grant scheme (£7,500 for heat pumps) is available — we'll point you to the application process, though we don't currently handle grants ourselves.
Well-designed heat pumps on off-peak tariffs typically halve oil-heating costs. Solar thermal can cover 60% of annual hot water demand.
Up to 75% lower CO₂ versus oil. As the grid greens further, the gap widens.
Our certification protects your warranty, your grant, and your home's resale value.
Modern systems run silently in the background with smart controls. You set it once, the system optimises.
Already aligned with future Boiler Upgrade Scheme rules and incoming low-carbon heating mandates.
Renewables is where heating engineering meets energy strategy. Here is the technical depth we bring:
Monobloc R32 / R290 units, sized to MCS heat-loss surveys, with weather-compensated controls and matched indirect unvented cylinders. We install Mitsubishi Ecodan, Vaillant aroTHERM plus, Daikin Altherma and Samsung EHS.
For larger rural properties with land for slinkies or borehole capacity. SCOPs of 4.5+ when properly designed. Higher capital, lower running. We partner with accredited drilling contractors and handle the heating side end-to-end.
Flat plate or evacuated tube panels feeding a dual-coil cylinder. Best paired with families using a lot of hot water (4+ people, baths/showers daily). Sized to deliver 60% of annual hot water demand without overheating in summer.
ASHP for base load and the boiler for peak/defrost cycles. Ideal for older or harder-to-heat properties where a heat-pump-only design would require significant fabric upgrades. The hybrid runs on the cheaper of gas or electricity at any moment, automatically.
Modern indirect unvented cylinders with 3.0–4.0 m² coils, expansion provision and Legionella cycle. Buffer tanks for very small homes or where multi-zone management requires hydraulic separation.
Weather compensation, load compensation, zone control, occupancy detection, tariff optimisation. Open APIs into Octopus Energy and Loop for tariff-aware operation. We build systems that get smarter, not dumber, over time.
BUS £7,500 for heat pumps (we handle); HUG2 means-tested funding for off-grid low-income homes (we'll advise); ECO4 referrals where appropriate; 0% VAT on most domestic renewables installs through 2027.
Honest, MCS-grade (via partner) advice. No commission-driven sales. MCS install delivered via accredited partner. 30+ years of heating engineering behind every design.
